Cornwall’s Waheed Siblings Shining In The Ring

Recently at this year’s Golden Gloves Ontario boxing event in Toronto three siblings from Cornwall who train at Champs Boxing Club impressed in the ring.

The youngest Isha “Pinky” Waheed was a Golden Gloves Champion in her age category and is off the the Nationals after some impressive wins.  One of her mentors is local pro Tony Luis who posted on facebook “I was told she was accused of fighting like a “little Tony”.

Her brothers did well too. Sahil placed second at the tournament which has also secured him a spot in the nationals.

Mubeen lost a very close decision in the semi-final to last year’s national champ.

Kudos to trainer Jorge Luis for working with these young boxers to make them into fine athletes and great human beings.

I trained with these young athletes when I was at Champs Boxing Club for a year.

These siblings are dedicated, talented, hardworking, humble and very respectful.

You’ll hear much more from all three for years to come in the amateur boxing world.
