Vegas Golden Knights are doing it right for families with special needs

They maybe the newest team on the ice in the NHL but the Vegas Golden Knights this week became the most progressive when it comes to fans.

They are making things easier for fans who have sensory issues and are on the Autism Spectrum to enjoy the game along with everyone in the arena.

As a parent of a child on the spectrum, I’ve always believed it’s up to us to ensure that we have all the tools we need at our disposal to assist our child when necessary. But I’ve learned that we parents are human and sometimes… Ok more than a few times, forget to bring with us all the ASD essentials. Las Vegas is changing that narrative and making sure their games are all inclusive to fans.

Next time The Dude and I go to see a game, we may not have to sit so high and far away.

It won’t be long before all stadiums and arenas follow the lead of the Golden Knights and have ASD kits for fans on the Spectrum. This parent won’t ever forget that it was Vegas that opened the door. ~Bill
