Word came out yesterday that the Upper Canada District School Board has laid off at least 100 teachers.
They say the teachers were declared “redundant”. They chalk it up to funding cuts by the provincial government, tied into an increase in class sizes.
These teachers will have to wait until June before they can re-apply for jobs.
But UCDSB says their schools will be properly staffed.
