The Drowsy Chaperone

The Drowsy Chaperone

A man in a chair appears and puts on his favourite record: the cast album of a fictitious 1928 show which suddenly comes to life in his apartment. With two lovers on the eve of their wedding, a bumbling best man, a desperate theatre producer, a day hostess, two gangsters posing as pastry chefs, a misguided Don Juan, and a tipsy chaperone, you have everything you need for the perfect Broadway musical. Nominated for thirteen 2006 Tony Awards and winner of five, (including Best Book of a Musical and Best Original Score) this deliciously silly and riotously funny show will delight you with its unique “play within a play” concept, its colourful characters, and its infectious, Jazz Age inspired music. Get ready to party like it’s 1928!
