“THE BIRDS” are coming to Winchester!
The Dundas County Players Theatrical Society is excited to announce the upcoming fall production “The Birds” written by Irish playwright Conor McPherson. This psychological thriller was adapted from Daphne Du Maurier’s short story, which was also the basis of the classic Alfred Hitchcock film.
Directed by Shannon Murdock, “The Birds” is a gripping and disturbing look at human relationships in the face of societal collapse. It is a play about fear, community, paranoia, claustrophobia, and survival, all complicated by the steady intrusion of attacking birds.
Diane and Nat are two strangers who take shelter from the relentless attacking birds that form a bond trying to survive. Julia, a mysterious young woman who suddenly adds to the conflict and ruffles some feathers to the desperate situation. All of this conflict and paranoia under a very watchful eye of cryptic neighbour Tierney. Be prepared to be fascinated, and to be at the edge of your seat contemplating the plot for days afterward…
