The Franklin County Agricultural Society announces the first annual Vintage Snowmobile Races on Friday, February 28th and Saturday March 1st 2025. 1996 & older OEM leaf spring chassis models are able to register and race.. Cash Prizes for feature winners and trophies for the 1st, 2nd 3rd place heat winners. There will be a Test and Tune trial run on Friday for the racers to get their sleds in peak performance. Test and tune will be on Friday, 4pm – 8pm. There is free admission on Friday, February 28th for spectators. Saturday there will be $10.00 admission for spectators. Saturday there is a Vintage Snowmobile Show, put on by the Vintage Snowmobile Club of The Adirondacks. General admission covers both the Vintage show and the races on Saturday. In 1969, radio stations toted Malone at the Snowmobile Capital of the World and the United States Snowmobile Association World Championships were held at the fairgrounds in December 1973. This will be the first flat track snowmobile racing at the fairgrounds in over 50 years. In past years there have been Snow-cross races held but no flat track oval racing.
